While traveling in Panama recently, Bernard Rothermund and Ken Engle, developers of Volcan Springs Ranch Estates, a gated community of homes and condos, were on a search for exotic flowers and plants. They wanted to add to the already verdant landscape of their gated community, which is located near the town of Volcan in the cool highlands of Chiriqui, Western Panama.
They drove up to visit some local nurseries in the sleepy little community of Cerro Punta which is situated on the border of a huge cloud forest and just a few minutes drive from Volcan. Cerro Punta in located on the opposite side of Panama’s highest mountain, Volcan Baru from Boquete, a town that has seen an explosion in tourism and foreign real estate ownership in the last few years. - Read More
